HHRA is pleased to congratulate our President, Ruchi Ambike, in receiving a  Civic Award at a recent ceremony in City Hall!  Her nomination was submitted by our Councillor, Joe Horneck, with the following words of recognition:

“Ruchi Ambike is nominated for her volunteer work as the founding President of Hazel Heights Residents Association and Neighbourhood Watch Team Lead for her area over the last 3 years. Following a series of security challenges in her neighbourhood Ruchi and a group of neighbours have worked tirelessly in bring together residents with each other, the City and Policing resources. The Resident’s association has now grown to host regular positive community building events such as park socials and bowling nights to build a tighter knit community that works together. Beyond her neighborhood she also sits on the parent council at John Fraser SS and is actively involved with the IgA Nephropathy Foundation, as the Lead Ambassador to Canada, providing outreach and support to other patients while spreading awareness.”
