Did you know that food insecurity has been declared an emergency in Mississauga; 1 in 13 of our neighbours rely on Food Banks. HHRA has registered to become part of  the Hunger Warriors Program in support of Food Banks Mississauga.

Our 2025 campaign goals includes raising $1000 in donations and organizing volunteer team(s) to help sort food donations at their warehouse location.  We invite residents in our community to join our campaign against hunger! Here are two ways you can help make a difference!

While all donations are highly appreciated, financial donations are particularly important for allowing purchases of fresh produce and other essentials. Just $1 dollar provides food for one nutritious meal. Every contribution counts, and together we can make a real difference in our communities. Congratulations and thank you to residents who have contributed to our campaign goal! To date, we have raised $1403 and have exceeded our target!  We look forward to further donations and your continued support.

How to Sign Up as an HHRA Volunteer

HHRA continues to collaborate with Food Banks Mississauga in organizing volunteers to help out at their storage facility.  We are allowed to bring about 12-14 volunteers for each session.  To date, we have organized two sessions for our community (refer to the events menu to view our recent volunteer sessions).  Additional sessions will be scheduled on future dates depending on the number of volunteers that register and dates available from the Food Banks staff.

We will communicate via our HHRA email about upcoming volunteer sessions.   The email will include a link for residents to register. You will be contacted to confirm your registration and to indicate your participation for the upcoming volunteer session. If we can not accommodate you for the scheduled session, we will put your name on a waiting list and/or contact you for the next session.
