Ruchi Ambike 
President

Ruchi has lived in the Hazel Heights neighbourhood with her husband Shailesh and their 2 sons since 2008. She completed her Masters of Clinical Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and is a self-employed Paediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with a focus in Autism Spectrum Disorder. An interest in neighbourhood connectedness and safety has led her to seek out opportunities for the betterment of the area. Ruchi volunteers as a Neighbourhood Watch Team Lead, a moderator on the Nextdoor Neighbour App, and secretary on the parent council at John Fraser SS. She is actively involved with the IgA Nephropathy Foundation, both as a kidney patient as well as the Lead Ambassador to Canada, providing outreach and support to other patients while spreading awareness. You’ll often see Ruchi walking around the neighbourhood with the family beagles, Remy and Bella.

Cort Fowler
Vice-President

Cort and his family moved into Hazel Heights in 2015. Over his 20+ year career, Cort has held progressive roles in user experience, business systems analysis, digital product management, and program management for larger enterprises. He volunteers on the HHRA Board to contribute towards a safer, more cohesive community with a more unified voice. When not working on professional or HHRA board matters, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, tending to his property, traveling, and attempting to play golf.

Ramila Murdath
Secretary

Ramila has resided in the East Credit area since 2002. In 2011, she relocated to Durie Road. She and her spouse are parents to a son (18) and a daughter (16). They are also pet parents to Max (a cockapoo). She has an M.Eng and has worked in finance, telecommunications, and now merchandising for more than 20 years. At her work place, she is a member of Women in Technology and actively participates to drive conversations. In her personal life, she enjoys playing board games, being outside, going on hikes, camping  and spending time with her family while not at work. She formerly served on the Parent Council for Dufferin Peel School Board as a secretary and treasurer. She participates in fundraising events for Terry Fox, SDM - Run for Women (Mental Health), and CIBC Run for the Cure as a volunteer as well as participant. She is an active volunteer at Tennis Canada to assist in promoting an underrepresented sport in Canada.

Sue Andrews
Treasurer

 Sue with her husband, Jim, and daughter, Shannon, moved to Encore Place in 1998.  Sue spent most of her career in the insurance industry with the last 21 years as an agent with State Farm and then Desjardins.  She semi-retired in 2018 to travel and spend more time with her family.  During this period, she followed her passion for crafting and started her own company, The Crafty B.   She fully retired in November of 2023 and is currently enrolled in the Real Estate Salesperson course at Humber College and will soon have her license.  Sue loves to read, craft, and volunteer for local animal rescues.  She shares her home with 6 fur babies.  You will see Jim, and sometimes, Sue, walking their dog, Piper, in the neighborhood.  Sue has been very visible in all things Streetsville - Bread & Honey, Canada Day, 150th celebration etc.  Her family loves the community and joined the HHRA to bring the neighborhood together and be a part of making the community safer.

Brian Coulson
Board Member

Brian and his wife, Doris have lived and raised their family in the Hazel Heights community for the past 25 years. They enjoy family gatherings, travelling, cottage life, and hiking on local conservation trails with their dog, Sesame.  Brian has a Masters of Education and served with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board for 30 year as a classroom teacher, special education teacher and principal. He has also served as an instructor at the the University of Toronto (OISE) and lead consultant with the Catholic Principals Association of Ontario (CPCO) focusing on technology-enabled leading and learning as well as web-site design. Since joining the HHRA his focus has been on promoting community building and safety while enhancing neighbourhood communication. 

Rushmi Hasham​
Board Member &
Volunteer Coordinator

Rushmi and her husband Jeff, with their daughters Natalie and Nicole, have lived on Durie since 2004, their most recent family member is Lily (Siberian cat). Rushmi works at Toronto Metropolitan University, leading a cybersecurity school for the university. She is very passionate about community projects across the city, specifically supporting and volunteering with foodbanks, feeding the homeless in the city, and providing career support to those struggling to secure employment. Rushmi loves the neighborhood and is grateful that some neighbors have become dear friends and are considered family. She enjoys walks through the neighborhood, getting caught up with the neighbors and getting to know everyone’s dogs along the way. Security of the community is always top of mind for her and Jeff, where they live is their sanctuary, they follow the belief that - we all need peace of mind that we live in a connected and safe community.

Jason Lui
Board Member

Jason Liu  works at a Biomedical company in Mississauga, as an IT professional who specializes in business analysis, people, and technology. He immigrated to Canada over 20 years ago and happily lives in this neighborhood with his wife and 3 kids.  Jason enjoys sports and cooking. He is devoted to informal youth development and seeks to improve the quality of life including neighborhood safety and senior health.  

Gordana  Maric
Board Member

With husband Gordan ( yeah, we have the same name ), son and daughter have lived in Riverway Cres since 2001. After a long career in Information Technology, she is now retired and enjoys her garden of vegetables and medicinal herbs.  You will see us around with our black German Shepherd Dog.
